Passion Projects

In class we have been working on something that we like and when we found soothing we enjoyed we had to come up with a driving question. My driving question was what are the best conditions for budgie breeding. I chose that because I have 12 budgies because they breed every year last year I had six but because of breeding season we have 6 more and one egg. I have made a slideshow showing you all the facts and the information about budgies. When I had finished it I had to present it to the class.

questions:
how did you collect all you research  and information?
I found it all on google or else I knew the information.

What were my thoughts overall?
my thought were good I thought it was fun doing this the only part I really didn't like which was presenting to the class.

avirey

Today in my passion project I kept working on the design for  the avriry but this time I fold it and made it into a 3D object.

I learnt how to make the 3d object
It was hard because it was difficult to tape it all together

aviary

plan
For my aviary project I'm planning on having the wire for the roof and punting a glass layer over the
top. The aviary needs to be secure from any animals like dogs and cat etc and if a bird gets between
the double door space I would recommend making it bigger so it's essayer to get the bird.

Looking after budgies would need human contact. They need to be fed budgie mix and millet spray,
garden greens and corn they drink water that needs to be changed daily. They like nature and the
environment. My papa has a tree in his aviary to make his birds feel like they are in nature. For a
nesting box I would put more than one so they have more of an option where they want to lay their
eggs. I would put the breeding boxes further away from the door so they wont get a fright when
someone enters. So far I have not found out what I want to put on the floor to keep it fresh.

What I can do that does not cost anything I can remove the glass wearing gloves and put the
glass in the recycling bin. We have boards in the garage that could be used for the floor

What we need to buy wire netting, framing for the double door, clear pvc, hinges, door catch.

My neighbor is renovating. He might have some stuff that we could use for free.

Aviary project

As a passion project I am working on a bird aviary because I have birds at home that live in cages and they seam really scared so I think having an aviary might make the birds more happy. I also have 5 budgies for the aviary I want to make a aviary.

This interest me because I have a good connection with my birds.  I find my birds a good animal because they can be annoying sometimes but a lot of the time they are quit and sometimes I can get them to stand on my shoulder. With a certain budgie when you whistle they will chirp back or make a high pitched sound.

My mum wants to take down the greenhouse. I asked if I can use the space for an a aviary for the birds so that is what I am doing. This project is an idea for in that space. My plan is to make one for 5 budgies and 2 nesting boxes and some other items.  Use wire or a form of metal for a window so the birds can climb it.

For this project I have researched three different types of aviary's if you read it ill tell you the info I've got.

Indian Shaka Vana
Other aviaries around the world should have a type of wire for light space for the birds to be happy
not to many objects in there that can be too overwhelming for the birds. here is an example of one
here Shaka Vana has a world record for the most species in it you can find it in India

Orana park has a cage for different breeds of birds but people can walk around the cage it has two
doors so no animals can get out and escape or get into another animals space lots of plants and stuff
for birds to climb on hide behind and other things like that

Zealandia is a space for birds that lets the birds go anywhere they want and they just come back for
food and water it has a big space for birds to explore and find a space they look there is also a limit
so they a protected from predators and other animals that are threatening
