 Katness got the name girl on fire because in her first appearance on the big stage in the huger games her jacket had a fire effect and on her dress when she won the hunger games.


From the film the hunger games katness was found to be the girl on fire. This shows that she could get hurt and burn but its just like an effect to makes her look like shes on fire. The director did this to make the audience think that she was really on fire. This worked well with her outfit to make it look more realistic. This aspect can be constructed to make the audience think that she has a life risk.

In textile we have been working on our cutouts for our hoodies.
So we had to get our pattern and then we had to trace over it onto some white paper with a tracing wheel, then we had to go over the dots with a pencil to make it more visible. The n we had to cut it out.

English

In English this week we have been working on the film study work  on our independent tasks on rich vs poor ans how it looks in movies compered to reality and how it is like poor people dont have much money or much of a house but people that are rich have a big house and lots of money.

In Textile we have been working on make a hoodie. We had to trace the pattern on the white paper and had to use a pattern tracer that looked like a pizza cutter to leave marks than we would go over it in pencil, we are now on cutting it out.

Changes in the NZ diet over the last 200 years

                                                                                                                                                              The food eaten in 

NZ has changed from when the Maori  people who were the original settlers of NZ  had a diet of berries, Moa meat, fish, eels, and vegetables that they grew themselves. Then as settlers from other countries arrived in NZ they introduced bread, different types of meat like pork, lamb, mutton and beef.  They grew a variety of vegetables, and got fresh milk from having their own cows. The availability and variety of all kinds of foods increased greatly over the next 200 years  and in recent times peoples diets often consist of pre prepared food, fast food, fresh and  frozen meat and vegetables, pasta, rice, meat substitutes, dairy foods and dairy substitutes.

In the Hunger Games Directed by Gary Ross, costumes are used effectively to show the theme of rich v poor.For example in the Capitol the costumes are very posh, the are neat, tidy, colourful even the dogs are coloured. The material is more futuristic and this makes us understand that the capitiol is more advanced than District 12.The director did this to create a contrast between the costumes.In District 12 the costumes are older,their material used are natural and well worn. This difference shows that there are privileges to living in the Capitol.
That there are many differences and good points to put across.
